The company was founded in 1986 in Texas, in the United States. Its main idea was to offer ready-to-run RC cars that needed no assembly, or very little work from the customer.

The goal was for hobbyists not to waste time on assembly and just enjoy driving their car.

They started selling them in 1987 with their ready-to-run (RTR) electric buggies. RTR models were the big difference this company found compared with other brands, since its vehicles are ready to run straight out of the box.

In recent years, the company has moved into ready-to-fly model aircraft, helicopters and quadcopters.

The company also sponsors teams outside RC, backing motocross teams, and it runs its own RC car competitions.
