Cheap RC Planes That Won't Break the Bank

There’s no better way to get started in RC aircraft than with a simple, tough model, so in this post we’ll go over some of the cheap RC planes you can find on the market.

You can check out the selection of RC planes we’ve put together for you in the next section. Remember to click on each one to see all its details and whether it fits your needs.

What cheap RC planes should offer

You might think that a cheap RC plane costing less than the market-leading brands won’t have the same quality or features, but that’s not entirely true. What we mean is that, to start flying, it’s neither necessary nor advisable to use a large plane packed with features. Instead, start with simply designed planes and move up to higher categories little by little.

You’ll see that the simplest planes have foam fuselages so crashes don’t affect them as much, which is very common when you’re starting out in this hobby.

You don’t need more than 4 functions and channels. That saves you some budget while still giving you the functions you need for your first flights.

Cheap RC planes for beginners

In the previous section we talked a bit about what to look for in a cheap RC plane for beginners. Ideally, you want a plane that’s tough and easy to fly, such as a trainer.

Since your plane will take plenty of hits and crashes when you’re starting out in this hobby, which is perfectly normal, it’s best to choose one made from good, durable materials.

Don’t focus too much on the features these cheap RC planes offer, since you’ll only need to move the wing servos and the tail rudder.
